Week 3 - MKTG 6101 - Ascend Your Startup - Chapter 3

 Hello everyone!

This post will be covering the content covered in Chapter 3 in Ascend Your Startup (https://www.amazon.com/Ascend-Your-Start-Up-Disconnects-Accelerate/dp/1641466219).

Last week, we took a look at Minimum Viable Product (MVP). In this week’s chapter of Ascend Your Startup, we take a look Minimum Viable Team (MVT).

So what is a Minimum Viable Team (MVT)?
A minimum viable team is the smallest team possible to achieve a business’s purpose.

How a business defines their own MVT is unique but generally, MVT’s have 4 common criteria:

  1. Common purpose

    1. What is the goal the group/business wants to achieve?

  2. Clear roles

    1. Who plays which role in the team? Define the responsibilities of each role.

  3. Minimum number of employees

    1. Limit the number of individuals to only those who are essential and necessary for the objective to be met.

  4. Measurable objectives

    1. The goal should be achieved using measurable objectives. Without them, you may not be moving towards the goal.

A MVT can have either a negative or positive effect on a company’s success and growth. Therefore it is essential for companies to spend the time setting up an effective MVT for their business in order to propel their growth in the future.

Thank you for reading!

Until next time,
