Week 4 - MKTG 6101 - Guerilla Marketing - Chapter 4

Hello everyone!

This post will be covering the content covered in Chapter 4 in Guerilla Marketing (https://www.amazon.com/Guerilla-Marketing-Inexpensive-Strategies-Business-dp-0618785914/dp/0618785914).

Developing a Guerilla Marketing Plan

Before you begin your guerilla marketing plan, you must develop a core story where you describe the real-life problem involving the customer you are trying to attract as well as the solution that you have for them. This core story can be the difference between customers choosing your company versus the competitor’s company because the core story allows your business to be more personalized. Furthermore, Levison states that the two most important things to succeed in guerilla marketing is:

  1. Start with a plan

  2. Commit to that plan

To develop the plan, you must do a few essential tasks prior. First you must engage in research, attend to all details, and give the situation/solution a lot of time and thought. This is a really simplified version of the amount of time and energy you must give to developing a guerilla marketing plan but the message is clear: you must truly dedicate sufficient time to initial research.

Finally, I leave you with the Seven-Sentence Guerilla Marketing Strategy as stated by Levinson:

  1. Purpose of marketing

  2. How you’ll achieve this purpose

  3. Target market

  4. Marketing weapons

  5. Your niche and your position

  6. Identity of your business

  7. Your budget
