Week 6 - MKTG 6101 - Surfing the Tsunami - Chapter 6
Hello everyone!
This post will be covering the content covered in Chapter 6 of Surfing the Tsunami (https://www.amazon.com/Surfing-Tsunami-Introduction-Artificial-Intelligence/dp/1976756340).
We have finally reached the last level of the three noted in Surfing the Tsunami.
The Three Levels:
Adapt - learn all you can about AI and be aware of the changing and evolving news surrounding AI
Adopt - integrate AI-related tools and platforms into your business, career, lifestyle so that you may better understand these changes and have experience with them
Adept - get directly involved with developing AI, learn about coding (even trying learning how to code) and how to work with related data
In this chapter, we dive into what it truly means to be Adept in AI.
Assuming you have already completed the first two levels, becoming Adept to AI might seem like the easiest level of the three. However I would beg to differ and say that because this final level is truly asking you to become a part of AI concurrently and learn how to code, I would definitely say that this is the hardest level.
Various resources exist to allow you to slowly and at your own pace become directly involved with AI.
For example, here are a few things that you can do today to become Adept in AI:
Explore emerging AI platforms (Ex: DataRobot, IBM, Google, Amazon, etc.)
Watch videos and learn about AI with apps on your smartphone
Play with AI Games, visit: http://tsunami.ai/games for a list of current AI games
Take online free courses such as Coursera, Udacity, or Udemy
This may seem daunting to try and fit everything into your current lifestyle, but author Todd Kelsey sets a good example. As you explore the world of AI and data science, try and look for opportunities to think of projects that help you learn AI and data science (Kelsey, 2018).
Thank you for reading!
Until next time,
Mariana Munguia
