In this final chapter of Ascend Your Startup, we took a look at what cultural collaboration is and what role it plays in your business. Cultural collaboration is vital to businesses as it ensures that not only is the business promoting inclusiveness and diversity, but it recognizes the value of those diverse perspectives and allows space for those opinions to be shared.
Cultural collaboration is essential in any business and industry because it can not only expand the success of your business but it also defines your company culture. If you are a business that recognizes and encourages diverse perspectives, then your customers and prospective employees can recognize that and further integrate into the company.
Personally, in the Public Health industry, cultural collaboration is, in my opinion, necessary in all aspects of public health. A culturally competent workforce is essential because when dealing with public health matters, having a diverse perspective and understanding can ensure that community members receiving services are receiving the best that they can. This, however, is not the standard and many public health organizations and government entities have established health equity offices in order to address cultural collaboration.
There is a lot more progress to be made in terms of cultural collaboration but if you are starting up your business, keep that in mind.
