Week 8 - MKTG 6101 - Hanson Robotics

Image
Hello everyone! I wanted to give you all a preview of my final project for my marketing course in the MBA program I am in. For my final project, I wanted to take a look at the famous Hanson Robotics.  This global company has had extensive marketing in a peculiar way and it drew me in because of the way that the company and even its products interact with social media, celebrities, and other major advertising mechanisms.  Below are some of their most famous products: Albert HUBO BINA48 Sophia I would also recommend you check out the following videos to see how the company interacts with individuals, regardless of the fact that the vast majority of these individuals are not consumers.  Albert HUBO (English) Bina 48 Meets Bina Rothblatt - Part One I hope this inspired you to take a look at Hanson Robotics! Thank you for reading! Until next time, Mariana Munguia

Week 8 - MKTG 6101 - Surfing the Tsunami - Chapter 8

Image
Hello everyone! This post will be covering the content covered in Chapter 8 of Surfing the Tsunami ( https://www.amazon.com/Surfing-Tsunami-Introduction-Artificial-Intelligence/dp/1976756340 ). This final chapter of Surfing the Tsunami truly reminds us that whether we like it or not, AI is here and it is only getting bigger. Even if you think that the industry you work in won’t be affected by AI, think again. AI is everywhere, whether you realize it or not. Surfing the Tsunami has an abundance of resources to aid you with adjusting yourself to AI and integrating yourself into AI. Not all the formats suggested by Kelsey are required for you to become fully involved in AI, but you definitely should take the time to learn and at least try one format. Things like reading books, trying courses, and researching online can be some of the options that you can try. Another suggestion, as noted by Kelsey, is to re-read the book. Especially chapters 3 through 6. These data heavy chapters truly di...

Week 8 - MKTG 6101 - Guerilla Marketing - Chapter 8

Image
Hello everyone! This post will be covering the content covered in Chapter 8 of Guerilla Marketing ( https://www.amazon.com/Guerilla-Marketing-Inexpensive-Strategies-Business-dp-0618785914/dp/0618785914 ). In this chapter, we dove into research and how it affects your company’s marketing. Both paid and free research is not intended to be a substitute for inspiration. As noted by Guerilla Marketing, research provides a connection with your customers or prospects that can get you where you want to go faster and more profitable.  Just as it has been previously said time and time again, it is vital to listen to your customers. One of the easiest ways that you can begin to listen to your customers is by sending out questionnaires to your customers. Questionnaires are easy and cost almost nothing compared to the data and results that it provides. You can even entice your customers to fill out the long and lengthy questionnaire by providing some sort of reward after completion.  In ...

Week 8 - MKTG 6101 - Final Reflection

Image
Hello everyone! I wanted to take the time to reflect on the past 8 weeks in this marketing course and the time spent on blogging. For the first time in my life, I have spent a good portion of my time and energy researching AI and learning about its implications. I grew up in a time when technology was first emerging so for me, technology and its advances have always seemed normal in a way. However, I will admit that I was definitely shocked to see just how far we have come in terms of AI development. It's a little scary to say the least. But, I am happy to have had the opportunity to explore AI and learn about it through every lens.  In addition to this, the marketing skills I have learned from reading both Ascend Your Startup and Guerilla Marketing have impacted the way I look at businesses and even the way a government entity advertises their programs and services.  Finally, I wanted to reflect on the past 8 weeks I have spent blogging. I have never been one to journal but t...

Week 7 - MKTG 6101 - Wombo Art

Image
Hello everyone! On a previous blog (Chapter 6 of Surfing the Tsunami) I mentioned the various ways one can get involved in AI. By far, this is one of the best and most fun ways to do so. Wombo.Art released just last year (February 2021) has become an increasingly popular AI website where you can type a phrase and/or different wording and a literal AI art piece will be created. Just off of one phrase, Wombo Art can create unique images and art that can be tweaked to your specifications.  Take a look at an example I created below: Phrase: “Beach Front House” Setting: Love Setting: Radioactive Setting: Surreal Setting: Wuhtercuhler Thank you for reading! Until next time, Mariana Munguia

Week 7 - MKTG 6101 - AI Implications in Public Health

Image
Hello everyone! This week, I wanted to dive into the implications of AI in other industries other than marketing, which has been the focus in the past few blogs.  As I mentioned in my very first blog, I pursued a Bachelors in Public Health and am currently working within my sector in my local county Public Health office. I have never given much thought to the implications that AI would have in my industry and I think it's because a lot if not all the work that we do within the Public Health department is one on one with community members. The services that we provide within the department are very much community based and involve direct communication and interaction between stakeholders and community members. That being said, there are some processes that have been automated, but in my opinion it is for the best. For example, some automated (online) processes that were originally done in person through paper or through the phone include our surveys and applications. Surveys now hav...

Week 7 - MKTG 6101 - Ascend Your Startup - Chapter 7

Image
Hello everyone! This post will be covering the content covered in Chapter 7 of Ascend Your Startup ( https://www.amazon.com/Ascend-Your-Start-Up-Disconnects-Accelerate/dp/1641466219 ). In this final chapter of Ascend Your Startup, we took a look at what cultural collaboration is and what role it plays in your business. Cultural collaboration is vital to businesses as it ensures that not only is the business promoting inclusiveness and diversity, but it recognizes the value of those diverse perspectives and allows space for those opinions to be shared. Cultural collaboration is essential in any business and industry because it can not only expand the success of your business but it also defines your company culture. If you are a business that recognizes and encourages diverse perspectives, then your customers and prospective employees can recognize that and further integrate into the company. Personally, in the Public Health industry, cultural collaboration is, in my opinion, necessary ...
